The fall issue of AAMC Magazine
highlighted the Dare to
C.A.R.E. program, an innovative
approach to cardiovascular
disease, in partnership with Anne
Arundel Medical Center. On Sept. 26, 2009, Dare to C.A.R.E.
conducted its 25,000th vascular
screening at the program’s annual
“Milestone of Life” Gala.
Edwin Meese III, former U.S. Attorney General to President Ronald Reagan, received the landmark screening. He was joined at the gala by Joe Theismann, former NFL quarterback for the Washington Redskins and spokesperson for the FindtheAAAnswers Coalition, a multi-faceted public education campaign designed to save lives from abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) by increasing awareness about low-cost screening for those at risk for this life-threatening condition.

We’re honored that Mr. Meese and Mr. Theismann would join us to celebrate what for us is a tremendous source of pride and excitement.”
