Vascular Screening Information


DTC vascular screening eligibility criteria includes the following:

No past participation in the screening portion of the program*

No involvement with a vascular specialist

Age greater than 60

Age greater than 50 AND one or more of the following risk factors:

High cholesterol

High blood pressure

Diabetes

Smoking

Family history of vascular disease**


The DTC screening examinations that are performed are preliminary studies only; therefore, it is crucial that you follow up with your primary care physician regarding your results. The results are forwarded to both you and your primary care physician, approximately 7-10 business days after the test date. The free vascular screening examinations consist of the following:

Carotid Artery Duplex


Abdominal Aortic Ultrasound


Renal Artery Ultrasound


Extremity Artery Evaluation

* If you have already been screened through DTC, you are ineligible as you should follow up with you primary care physician.

** Family history of vascular disease consists of stroke, heart attack, high blood pressure, kidney failure, sudden cardiac death, or abdominal aoritc aneurysms
